TALK Board Member Izaak Prats will lead and convene his first meetup for a Louisville team to enter the XQ Super School Challenge. Be at the formation meetup and join the Louisville team!We are not sure if you’ve heard of the XQ Super School challenge, but TALK thinks it fits well in-line with TALK’s education STEAM goals and the TechTown initiative.

The local effort will be called the YETI project. You may have seen the TV ads on this initiative, as the excitement is sweeping the country to reorganize the high school model. Contact him at:

This event will be held on this coming Friday on Nov. 20th in the Code Louisville space, at 252 E. Market St. in Louisville at 4 pm. Code Louisville is now located near ihub. Surging interest and boosted participation led the way to an expansion of Code Louisville into a recently renovated building that is part of the downtown Nucleus Innovation Park.

From the website of the same name: The XQ Super School Project is an open call to reimagine and design the next American high school. In towns and cities far and wide, teams will unite and take on this important work of our time: Rethinking and building schools that deeply prepare our students for the rigorous challenges of college, jobs, and life.

This is a challenge to empower all of America to change high school. Together, we can transform communities and build schools that inspire new possibilities.

Over the next few months, XP Super School Project headquarters will accept proposals, including the YETI project that Izaak will organize under this TALK initiative. Then the XP Super School Project staff will partner with the winning teams and provide them expert support and a fund of $50 million to support at least five schools over the next five years to turn their ideas into real Super Schools.
