The Technology Association of Louisville Kentucky (TALK) is partnering with the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC) and the Kentucky Computer Science Teachers Association to identify up to 20 high school teachers across the state for the opportunity to attend the 2016 Education Discovery Forum in Dallas, TX on July 18th this year, under special scholarships. Each educator can also apply for travel expenses. Interested KY educators should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Education Discovery Forum (EDF) is a week-long professional development workshop for high school teachers, which gives them a dynamic, hands-on training in implementing innovative, project-driven, multi-disciplinary curricula surrounding Cyber Literacy.
Educators also have opportunity to connect with NICERC subject matter experts and experience new ways to engage today’s students. Throughout the forum, teachers take a ‘deep dive’ into the content thus providing them with a greater understanding of the curriculum design process, projects and opportunities for implementation.
The Education Discovery Forum is being held at the Embassy Suites Dallas Frisco Hotel Convention Center in Dallas, TX, on July 18-22, 2016.

TALK is a non-profit tech council that works to develop and deliver STEM education, improve local workforce development in technology fields, and attract technology companies to our city. TALK is a member of CompTIA (The IT Industry Association), and TECNA (Technology Councils of North America).
The National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC) was created by the Cyber Innovation Center to advance its academic outreach and workforce development program. NICERC focuses on curriculum design, professional development, and collaboration in K-12 education. The impact of NICERC is the creation of a Cyber Interstate that allows individuals to ‘enter and exit’ at various points throughout their academic and professional careers. A Cyber Interstate provides multiple opportunities for students to become aware of cyber issues (enhance awareness), engage in cyber education (expand the pipeline), and select cyber careers (evolve the field). www.nicerc.org
