Skateboard Build event: Moved to Nov. 4-5: STEAM After-School Activity

Dear Educators, Woodworkers, Skateboarders and Parents,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a class to build a mini-cruiser, skateboard, or longboard Friday, Nov. 4th from 4-7, and Saturday, Nov. 5th from 9-1. Nov. 6th is an optional art day, and can be added by request, and for an additional fee structure, from one of our certified teachers interested in sharing techniques for skateboard art. Classes will be held at Marwood in Jeffersonville, IN. If you have more than five people interested, we can accommodate a location shift.

Teaching the class will be Master Skateboard Builder, Martin Walsh. Martin’s passion for skateboarding started in the Seventh grade, and involves lots of street skating with friends. By Ninth grade Martin decided to build his own skateboards. Through vigorous research and thoughtful self teaching, Martin has built 5 different presses to build his boards.

Each participant will design and build his or her very own custom Mini Cruiser, Skateboard or Longboard. There are many STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) skills to be learned along the way. If you are under the age of 18 your parent must attend, but at no cost. All supplies, including trucks & bearings, are included in the fee. The maximum class size is 10 participants.

Register today by calling Cece at (812) 288-8344 or email her at cece@marwoodveneer.com Fees are dependent on the type of boards build. talk-final-logo
